First drawn to real estate in the late 1980s, Ian has lived in Calgary for over 40 years, giving him an understanding of the how the city has changed, its neighbourhoods, schools and transit.

He has renovated and restored homes himself, so he’s familiar with the guts of a house — from the cribbing to plumbing, roofs and electrical — and the big pictures too, including marketing and pricing strategies.

“You are not a salesman; you are a listener,” Ian says of real estate, highlighting his commitment to truly serving his client’s best interests. He develops top-notch marketing strategies, scours available resources and opportunities for buyers, and works for his clients, full-time and with dedication.

“It’s so different than houses,” Ian says. “With a condo you are buying the space between your walls, yes, but also shares in a condo company, so you have a vested interest, and so you have to look at the whole, the financials, the board, everything.”

Ian’s condo expertise has proven invaluable for clients, from his contacts with superb and specialized condo lawyers, to his facility with contracts, and his own personal experience on multiple condo boards.
